Concours musical international de Montréal and the great J.-S. Bach
The Concours musical international de Montréal, in partnership with the Festival Bach Montréal and Canada Classique, is pleased to share the videos of works by Johann Sebastian Bach as performed by this group of talented and up-and-coming international pianists.

At the end of the competition, the Festival Bach Montréal Award for the best performance of a work by J. S. Bach- valued at $1,500 – will be awarded to the most outstanding competitor.

Founded in 2001, the Concours musical international de Montréal (CMIM) aims to discover and promote outstanding and deserving young singers, violinists and pianists. It is the only international competition in North America to be held annually and to present three disciplines alternately over a three-year cycle. Since the first edition devoted to Voice in 2002, nearly 4,000 candidates have sent in applications for the Competition and no less than 500 have been welcomed to Montreal, to the delight of music lovers.

The 19th edition of the Concours musical international de Montréal is dedicated this year to the next generation of pianists. The Piano 2021 competition brings together 26 competitors from 11 different countries. For this free digital edition presented from April 26 to May 14, 2021, all participants had to include at least one work by Johann Sebastian Bach in their semifinal or final program.
